Flavor Bombs - You Gotta Have a Sauce
One thing I want to emphasize is that our recipes, generally speaking, always seem to have a “flavor bomb” worked into them … and that is usually due to some sort of sauce. A lot of our most popular recipes have that little extra something to take it to the next level. You gotta have a sauce!!! And this recipe is no exception. There is something about this creamy, delicious sauce that the orzo cooks in, that is just next level!
Dairy-Free + Gluten-Free Option: I know a lot of you love/need dairy-free and gluten free options, so I also tested this one out using Violife Parmesan Cheese + Gluten-Free Orzo (yes, it does exist!) … and the results were AMAZING! For those of you who don’t know, I discovered I was allergic to dairy when I was a sophomore in high school. Thankfully, that allergy has, for whatever reason, slowly turned into more of a sensitivity - so I usually keep my recipes “dairy-light”, as I like to call them. But, my Mom can’t do dairy or gluten (she isn’t technically allergic, I don’t think, but her system just doesn’t tolerate them). So last Friday, she came into town and I tested this recipe out for her with the dairy-free, gluten-free substitutions … she LOVED it!
